sketch: morning rising

Lazy waking in the morning, eyes swollen from the prior late night, my arm slithers out of the cocoon of sheet taut around me. Palm staggers to find the puffy rim of eye lashes while the back slowly arching, a wave of movement cracking through the stiffness – the morning ritual in arpeggios across the spine. I linger in the dawn’s light, amber rays permeating the final residue of unconscious stuck in the corner of my eyes. I am awake.

wow... a beautiful description... very poetic indeed... and sarcastic somehow...

'cocoon of sheet'
'residue of unconscious stuck in the corner of my eyes'
